February Workshops
Feb 1, Saturday, 1PM: Felted Soap Workshop
- Come join us Saturday, February 1 at 1pm for a Felted Soap workshop. Participants will learn how to make unique felted soap bars, and will leave the workshop with two complete bars - one for you and one for a friend!
- All materials are included. The soap bars provided are Yardley brand soap - if you have allergies and need special soap, or would prefer a different brand, please feel free to bring two bars of your choosing.

Feb 4, Tuesday, 5:30PM-7:30PM: Not-So-Plain Weave Workshop
- For all the beginning weavers, the rigid heddle weavers, or more experienced weavers looking for a bit of inspiration, this workshop is for you! In this 2-hour class, Chris Acton will take you through (3) different techniques to fancy up your tabby. Gone are the days when plain weave looks, well, “plain”!
- Participants will be able to try their hand at each technique, but they do not need to bring a loom with them. No supplies are required. It is also not a requirement to know how to dress (warp) a loom, but having that skill will be beneficial in understanding the concepts.

Feb 8, Saturday, 10AM-1PM: Duneland Weaver's Guild
- Monthly meeting of the Duneland Weaver's Guild - newcomers are welcome!
- Weavers and Spinners that accepted the President's Challenge will present their projects.
Feb 8, Saturday, 3PM: Intro To Basket Weaving
- Join us to make your very own eight inch round basket with a wooden handle - the perfect size for easter egg gathering, or holding your sewing project. This class is perfect for first time weavers, as a variety of techniques will be taught. Your basket will be made from natural colored reed, and different colors will be available so each basket will be unique to its maker. All supplies and tools will be provided. Basket weaving does involve water, so dress in something you dont mind getting wet. Please allow four full hours to complete your basket.
- Minimum age is 12 (with a parent also taking the class).

Feb 9, Sunday, 10:30 AM-3:00 PM: Felting on Silk Workshop
- Felting on Silk (Nuno Felted) Art Scarf Class - Beginner Friendly! Students will create original wet felted designs on sheer silk fabric using wool roving and yarns. Choose your favorite colors to create your own one of a kind Art to Wear piece! All materials provided and no experience necessary. Students are encouraged to bring any wool or silk yarns or scraps they may want to incorporate to personalize their work. Please bring 2-3 old towels and a sack lunch. Class starts at 10:30AM, and will run for at least four hours (possibly longer depending on your pace). Space is limited, a pre-paid class fee ($85) will reserve your spot (click here to register).
Feb 11, Tuesday, 5:30-7:30: Project Night
- Bring your work in progress and hang out with fellow fiber artists.
- Light refreshments and coffee/tea provided.
Feb 23, Sunday, 10:30AM: Felted Fabric Workshop
- Students will create wet felted original designs on 2 sided felted fabric from scratch. Finished project can be used as a decorative table runner, art to wear scarf, etc. Some basic knowledge of wet felting is helpful and this is an all day class. All materials are provided but sudents are encouraged to bring any wool or silk yarns or scraps to incorporate into project. Please bring 2-3 old towels and a sack lunch.

Feb 29, Saturday, 1:00PM - 3:00PM: Painting with Fiber
- Come learn how to “paint” with wool! Enjoy a new way to create beautiful art using fiber and needle felting needles! Wool can be layered and lightly needle felted to create beautiful pictures that are bursting with texture and depth. The technique taught in this class will inspire you to decorate totes, clothing, and create frame-able artwork! Everything will be provided for you- Felting mat, needles, beautiful wool, wood display frames with glass and lots of guidance! You’ll learn Felting techniques to create different textures and designs on your art. If you’re looking for a new therapeutic form of self - expression, come to this fun and relaxing class and create a masterpiece!
- In this class the instructor will help you create your own personalized landscape with grass, hills, a sky or sunset, and a silhouette of a tree. You can create your own design and make it completely unique based on what inspires you!
