Embroidering Knits
February 21st, 5:30 pm
Embroidered knits look intricate and opulent, but they are actually easy and inexpensive to create. In Embroidering Knits, you'll learn how to stitch a design on knitwear using yarn, a hoop, and a simple pattern. This class is suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced students.
Bring a knit item to embroider, such as a scarf, hat, sweater, shawl, or even a swatch (small tubular items, such as mittens and socks, can be tricky for beginners). A few swatches will be available. Bring a six to eight inch hoop, if you have one. Otherwise, hoops will be available for loan or purchase. Included in the course: crewel-work needle, a selection of yarn and wool embroidery floss, and a pattern. $15 per person
