Embroidery Class Series
Come join embroidery instructor Sharon Biggs Waller as she demonstrates how to work a colorful kaleidoscope motif, designed by Mary Corbet, using DMC Colorist and cotton floss. We will also be working with fine Tailor’s Chalk linen as background material and learning the technique of preparing it for stitching. Finally, we will be finishing and framing the design. This class is suitable both for eager beginners and novices looking for a challenge, and intermediate and advanced stitchers looking to hone their skills. Stitches used include stem stitch, back stitch, whipped back stitch, detached chain stitch. plus techniques for each stitch: decorative, sharp corners, over and under, and color work.
Participants will meet at Three Moons Fiberworks at 10:30am on Saturday April 20, April 27, May 4, May 11, and May 18th.
Cost for participation is $75, plus purchase of a kit ($30), which includes 12” by 12” square of Tailor’s Chalk linen, 1 DMC Colorist skein and 8 DMC cotton skeins, Tapestry and embroidery needles, and water-soluble printed pattern. Kits can be purchased during the first session on August 5th.
